Some urban camping!

The concrete looks like it wouldn’t be very comfortable to sleep on, but I do have that minimalist backpacking sleeping pad to provide both warm and comfort. It was a very warm day, so the coolness of the evening was a very welcomed pleasure. Lunch and dinner were awesome!

I did the Old Chicago run this evening. Eight miles. For some reason I wasn’t feeling that great. It may have been because of the heat combined with a bit of dehydration. However, when I got back to Old Chicago and joined the rest of the crew for a few beers and trivia, I felt much better! We got third, so we have a $25.00 gift certificate to spend on appetizers next week.

Today I learned that you can eat for pretty cheap at the grocery store. I mean a banana is only about a quarter! I’m having fun exploring and stepping out of my normal daily routine. I think it’s good to get out of your comfort zone every now and then. It opens the doors for a whole new set of experiences.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
