I was in the library this morning working on UberEZ and soon found myself randomly smiling and laughing to myself! At that point, I decided that some of the technical back-end website work I was wanting to complete didn’t seem so important. I though to myself…this can wait for a little while!

The library had brought in a performer to do a show for the kids. They were all laughing and giggling out loud! Laughter seems to have that effect on people. It simply makes most of us want to join in the fun.

Laughter and humor are infectious. When laughter is experienced, it can bring people together and increase happiness and intimacy. Laughter also has the ability to trigger physical and healthy reactions in the body. Laughing out loud can strengthen your immune system, boost your energy level, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. I’m not making this stuff up, the mayo clinic agrees!

I’m not one to preach, but I love to laugh and I enjoy being around people that laugh as well. With so much emotional and physical power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh out loud is a tremendous medicine for battling some of life’s problems, enhancing relationships, and strengthening one’s physical and emotional health. And it’s free!

I did end up getting back to work and completing what I had set out to do. But I did it with fresh enthusiasm and energy!
